They remind me of traditional Japanese ginger jars. It isnt just the color, either.

Were you ever locked in a closet when you were a kid?
Did you Fall in a hole and have dirt cover you?

-- NO, NO, nothing like that!
:icongz12wk:
really.... I get a lot of comments that my pottery has a Japanese or oriental feel to it... but I have never studied their forms.... nor have I seen any Japanese ginger jars.

Thanks

Man!! Those are soo awesome!! You have a real knack for these things. True hands on art! :D

Hey, you could leave a hole in the bottom the size of a quarter. Then after you fire it, add a cork or rubber flap to get the money out. Just a thought. :)
:icongz12wk:
thanks...

and btw the clay shrinks as it dries and shrinks again when bisk fired and again when glaze fired... all in all about 20% so a quarter size hole wlold end up about the size of a nickle...

but I made them with breaking them in mind... never knowing they would turn out so cool!

Wow, those are really cool. The glaze imparts a particularly radiant ambience to them; I love the colors.
